My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is my second read by Susan Mallery, but my first in the Fool’s Gold series.
Jack McGarry has it all, he’s rich, handsome, famous and runs a successfull PR firm with three of his best friends. He hides his pain of a long ago family tragedy behind his charm and kindness through giving of various charities.
Larissa Owens is pure at heart. She’s always on the lookout for someone or something to save and is able to do this by way of being Jack’s personal assistant. Whenever she finds something that sparks her interest, Jack’s always there to help-whether it’s donating money to her cause or the use of his house as a temporary home for animals, he enlist whatever Larissa needs. The two are not only boss/employee, they are great friends.
I loved everything about this story. It was wonderfully written and flowed perfectly. The characters each had a depth to them that made you fully understand who they were (without reading previous books in the series). At times their relationship was quirky, but that was what I liked about it. They almost seemed married before they ever realized there was an attraction between the two. It makes me want to go back and read the entire series.
I received an ARC copy of this book from NetGalley in exchance for an honest review.
